Hello all! This week I was lucky enough to make it out to the Magic Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. What is MAGIC? If you’ve never heard of Magic, you can find more information about on their website linked here. But, long story short, Magic a HUGE (and I mean huge) trade show that takes place two times a year. It acts the largest showcase for brands from all over the world showcasing their latest collection. It covers every market place in the fashion industry that you could possibly think of like women’s, men’s, accessories, shoes, sourcing, and everything in between. Attending Magic allows one access to the 11 different shopping floors, super cool seminars, and various fashion shows.
Never heard of Qupid?
Qupid is an inexpensive and trendy place to one stop shop for every girls shoe needs! They literally have a pair of shoe for every single girl or for the girls that love to change up their style. They have it all! Booties, heels, sneakers, sandals, flats, you name it, they probably have something for you to wear!

The Qupid Booth
Since Magic is an exclusive event for those relevant to the fashion industry, company booths are very private about the inventory they are showcasing! I was lucky enough to take a walk through Qupids booth today and preview their latest styles. Let me tell you, it’s super overwhelming. I’m not entirely sure how many pairs of shoes I got to preview, but these images don’t even show half the amount! This booth is literally SHOE HEAVEN!! Every corner I turned, there’s another pair I would die to have.
My personal favorite section of shoes carried by Qupid are their booties/bootie heels! I kid you not, I want EVERY PAIR. They are spot on with trends so believe me when I say they have it all! One of my personal favorites is the Wasco-12A style, linked here. It’s also the shoe I just previously featured in my outfit. This shoe is different than other booties I own. It has a very western and and rock and roll vibe! What caught my eye were the three thick western inspired buckles that make the statement! Along with the little chunky heel, these shoes are definitely a hit for me.
Events at MAGIC
Now I know why Magic is a three day event! It’s jam packed with so many shopping floors, seminars, and others to fill the days. There’s a handful of seminars to choose to attend, all pertaining to different audiences. I attended two seminars today.
The first by Sarah Coates, the Women’s Director for Trendstop, and Matthew Thornton, Principal of Armchair. Coates did a quick run through of men’s and women’s upcoming trends for s/s 2017. I found the seminar really interesting and insightful. I’m excited to see those trends, like ruffled tops, in retail stores.
The second by Thornton reviewed the importance of creating a brand for any company. I won’t bore you with details of the powerpoint, but let’s just say branding is IMPORTANT!! If I could share one statement said in the seminar, it’s “Branding is story telling.” I was quite familiar with branding already, but even so, this seminar shined some light on the subject even more.
Overall, these seminars were really enjoyable and if anyone decides to attend, they’ll surely be able to take something away from it.
Other Shopping Floors
Having a pass at Magic gives you access to all the shopping floors at the convention. Even if you’re area of interest is only WSA, it doesn’t hurt to check out what else Magic has to offer. I jumped floors to WWD (Women’s Wear Daily). It has showrooms featuring all of women and junior’s apparel. This area was a dream to me! Beautiful clothes left, right, up, and down. Being able to preview companies upcoming collection is a dream. The floors include: PROJECT, THE TENTS, MRket, Vanguard’s Gallery,THE COLLECTIVE, POOLTRADESHOW, PROJECT WOMENS, STITCH, AccessoriesTheShow, CURVENV, WWDMAGIC,FN PLATFORM, WSA@MAGIC, Children’s Club MAGIC, SOURCING at MAGIC, and Footwear SOURCING at MAGIC. Yes that’s A LOT! I’d recommend peeping in at least a few different ones to see what’s going on in them! Seriously, Katy Perry was hosting her own booth yesterday. It never hurts to try!
