Since we’re heading into October, we’re transitioning into Fall!! But seriously, California does not get a fall … at least not until around Thanksgiving. At least in the Bay area, we get really late summers. August to September tend to be a tad hotter than June and July so I’ve still been rocking some of my summer pieces lately.
I got this lovely two piece dress from Love Verity. They have the cutest selection of dresses and two pieces that embody a romantic Californian vibe. Two pieces are so awesome because they can be worn together or apart (woohoo a two-in-one!!) I’m such a sucker for maxi pieces and this piece caught my eye for the high slit and tie top. Loving the whole set just because it’s so laid back and romantic, which is definitely my style in day time dresses. The best thing about top that tie like that is that is can be tied multiple ways. I tied this in a bow in the front, or I can wrap it around, or really any way I can creatively tie it! Although I styled it this way, with the tie creating a plunging neckline, I can wrap it so it covers up more. This piece is so versatile and can be worn for a day time picnic or even to a fancy event like a wedding. I have a bunch of floral dresses in my closet, but I think this is one of the cutest I collected this summer. Make sure to check out Love Verity for more flowy romantic pieces!
I’ve always be obsessed with statement dresses and this dress is definitely not an exception. I recently picked up this dress in white, which I loved for it’s light, airy, and ethereal vibes. (Check out my previous blog post!) When I saw this dress in this mustard yellow, I was skeptical at first since I rarely sport yellow to contrast my warm skin tone. I’ve had my eye on this dress for a while, so I thought I’d take a risk on this lacey romper dress for the summer. And thankfully, it worked out! I loved shooting this at Stanford’s Cactus Garden (really hard to find the first time) which goes perfectly with the golden yellow. This location is such a hidden gem, I totally felt like I was in the desert! Plus the sunsetting gave us the perfect light the show the sheen through the lace skirt.
I knew once I received this dress, I had to give it justice by wearing it somewhere just as beautiful as it is. This was my first time at Sutro Baths and Ocean Beach and let me tell you, it did not disappoint me. This is one of the prettiest beaches I’ve ever been to in the Bay Area. The sand was soft, the water was cool (obviously all Bay Area water is chilly), and the light was hitting it just right. Maybe I just caught it on a good day, but this beach seriously lands near the top of my list.
Let’s talk about my look! I wore this white maxi piece, which I’m sure you’ve seen everywhere. What I love so much about this is that it’s actually a romper, then has the white sheer skirt over. It has two slits on the side, which is means it’s an A+ piece for me!! This piece is just gorgeous combining the sheer lace and the deep V neckline. I love how this lace looks with the sheen of the sun. Find this dress from Azkara in white, black, and mustard . This With such a whimsical dress, I wore it with a handmade floral crown. The crown is gorgeous and full of blooms! I love having any sort of flower accessory when I’m shooting in nature. The crown is courtesy of Flower Story Gal.
Huge shoutout to Thea Lau, for shooting this gorgeous set!!
